Week 37 and Still Pregnant!

The induction date is looming just 12 days away and Meg is still pregnant. Meg reports that it is harder to tell which baby is which because they move around so much but yesterday she seemed very hopeful that Brendan was now head down. She has an NST today and they will do a fluid check so hopefully the tech will check for the position of the babies! Say a prayer! Things are moving along slowly - Meg is having some contractions and a few other things moving and changing but for the most part she is just hanging out waiting for Brendan and Lila to decide to come out. Meg has a five day work schedule starting tonight so she is hoping that being on her feet will get things moving. In the meantime I took some pictures of her expanding tummy yesterday while she was over playing with the kids! Believe it or not, even at this late stage - she's still glowing and looking beautiful!
Molly was more than happy to pose for some pictures with her auntie but last night she turned to me and said "Mama, why do people keep having babies when they take so very long to cook?"
Hopefully the next update will be baby pictures so stay tuned!

Baby Shower for our Babies!

On July 11, 2010 we had Meg's baby shower. She thought she was coming down to the beach house for lunch with her brother, Brendan, because she had been having an emotional week and needed a break. When Meghan and Brendan pulled up the beach house everyone was waiting to celebrate the impending arrival of the twins.

The baby shower favors - Noah's Ark boxes (2 by 2) filled with candy and 2 peas in a pod candles.

Molly and Abby could not wait for Auntie Meg to get there!
Sister Anne and Kara
Auntie Joyce, Paula, Brooke and Auntie Carol enjoying the Mamosa's
Karla and Emily
Jenny, Sara and Grandma Lawrence
Auntie Val and Eileen waiting for Meg to get there.
Simple little centerpieces with blue Hydrangea's - so pretty.
Brendan called to say that Meghan was not far away so we all filed out onto the porch to greet her!
The girls waving to Auntie Meg.
Yeah - She's finally here! SURPRISE!
Grandma Kelly greets Meg and the babies! I think she was relieved that all the hiding and sneaking around was finally over - it was a long few weeks trying to keep everything a surprise.
Hugs for the proud Mom/Grandma!
Hugs for Meg's goddaughter - pretty amazing that the kids didn't ruin the surprise!
Brendan was a GREAT big brother - he got Meg there, helped load up the gifts later and was just all around supportive of his baby sister! That must be why he is getting a namesake!
Brendan and Uncle Pete were off to get some lunch and leave the ladies to showering Meg and the babies but first they had to get a picture with the guest of honor! Brendan was responsible for getting Meg there while Uncle Pete was responsible for parking 40 cars and unloading everyone's gifts! WOW!

Look at those people piling their plates up - just kidding!
Game time - everyone concentrated like they were taking their finals! It got pretty quiet and competetive!
I love this picture of the Grandmas conferencing.
Have you ever seen so many presents? Meg looks tired just looking at them all!
Abby is telling her mom secrets!

Auntie Carol passed down 2 yellow blankets that she used for her twins. Auntie Mary made them so they were very special to Meg!

Auntie Ann outdid herself - again! The cake was beautiful and says "Double Miracles".
The girls got creative with all of the ribbons from the gifts.
Cake time!
Abby had ribbons all over!
The shower was a grand success. Meg and Tim got everything the babies could possibly need and also got to see how many people love them and the new babies! Meg has been going for her NST's and everything is wonderful - no contractions and babies are doing exactly what they are supposed to do! Baby Brendan has flipped but it appears that he has a bunch of room in there so there is time for him to flip back and be head down again. The doctor saw Meg on Wednesday and scheduled an induction just in case Meg does not go into labor before then. Her induction date is August 9, 2010. I have a feeling the babies won't wait quite that long but Tim loves it because the birthdate would be 8-9-10. I have to admit that is a cool birthday and easy for a Daddy to remember! Everyone say a prayer that Baby Boy gets back down there on his sister's chest until the birth so Meg can avoid a c-section! Either way we will be meeting the babies in 3 weeks!
